His works are in all the major museums, including The British Museum. The British Museum entry about the artist reads as follows.
"Leading painter in Osaka during the first half of the nineteenth century. Born in Senba in Osaka as the eldest son of the cotton merchant Awaya Chujiro VI. Pupil of Matsumura Goshun and Nakai Ranko. He became an official painter to the 11th lord of the Kishu Tokugawa, Tokugawa Nariyuki."
Condition:
1) The original silk cloth covering the book covers is loose due to age. A bookbinder or conservator can replace it with other fabric or material. Since the book cover reflects the taste of the steward, we are leaving it to a new collector.
2) There are two old damages by insects in one volume.
(The price reflects the above conditions.)
3) Minor scuffing due to be cherished and looked at the pages many times in almost 200 years.
Otherwise, the set is in good condition.
